Stay Away From Fraud – INEC Warns Staff

The National Commissioner, Muhammed Muatata Lecky has warned all INEC staff in the South-South zone to stay away in any act of fraudulent during the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise where new eligible voters and the Distribution of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) will be held in all the 774 local government area of the Federation.

The National Commissioner made this known to newsmen in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State while flagging off The Voters Registration Exercise, the INEC Boss said, the CVR exercise will hold in all the 774 Local Government Areas of the federation, the will take place on Mondays through Fridays on till the conclusion of the 2019 general elections.

The National Commissioner said to facilitate a successful conduct of the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR), the commission has put four team in place, Registration Area Officers (RAOs) and a Distribution Officer (D.O) will be stationed at the L.G.A office or any other suitable location. The team will have Direct Data Capturing Machines (DDCMs) one for data capture and the other has back-up.

 

He urged all eligible voters to participate effectively to avoid disenfranchisement in the forthcoming elections, reiterating that this exercise will be all year round and advise political party to encourage their supporters to come out to register and collect their PVCs.
