The Former Security Adviser to Bayelsa State Government, Chief Prekeme Kpodoh, has commended the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for its ongoing anti-corruption campaign and the recent cases of recovered funds by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to Kpodoh, though the masses were expecting the amount recovered to be made public and the projects it will used for to be outlined, the recent discoveries of stashed monies and the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF and the Director General of Nigeria Intelligence Agency, NIA, over suspicion of wrong doing, have boosted the confidence of the people in the current administration.

Speaking in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on the recently recovered funds and the suspension of the SGF and the DG NIA, he said that the funds have shown that the Buhari administration was out to restore sanity to the nation’s democracy and the political class.
Kpodoh, who was the Interim Chairman of APC in Bayelsa, said though the discoveries of looted funds had confirmed his claims of corrupt spending and enrichment by politicians under the last administration, “the ongoing anti-corruption campaign will help restore peoples’ confidence in our democracy.”
The people in the last six years perceived the nation’s democracy as corrupt and played by ill gotten wealth.
“The discoveries by EFCC is a confirmation of the worry expressed by the people. And it is a shame on the political class. Why were they stock piling money? Is it that they are afraid of poverty and want to be richer than the nation? The last six years was a shameful era in which the vault of the Central Bank of Nigeria was thrown open for the few to loot, while majority of the masses were left to suffer poverty, under development and joblessness.”
Kpodoh noted that though his recent calls for proper probe of the last six years of Former Administration was criticised by those who participated in the plundering of the treasury, “ the recent discovery confirmed my fears and it has boost our confidence that PMB will return the country on the part of sanity.”
Kpodoh, who prayed for President Muhammadu Buhari, charged Nigerians to pray for the President for quick recovery and sustained strength to complete the task of riding the nation of wicked and corrupt politicians with his anti-corruption battle.
He also commended Buhari over the recent suspension of the SGF and the DG,NIA, describing it as an icing on the cake for anti-corruption war in the country, commending him “For looking inward and suspending the duo of SGF and DG,NIA, it is an icing on the cake for anti-corruption battle.”
Kpodoh called on Buhari and the EFCC to sustain the battle by checking the books of the Presidential Amnesty Committee headed by Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (retd). “What we are asking for is an audit of the Amnesty Committee books because of the noticeable anomaly in the sharing of Amnesty slots, use of Amnesty funds for ventures it is not meant for and the use of slots to settle political patronage.
“ Our little investigation showed that instead of settling the arrears owed ex-militants with funds available, the Amnesty office is busy sponsoring campaigns of self adulation for future political purpose.”
