Ex Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu is expected to receive the baton team at the Queen’s Baton Greensprings Football Camp with the hosting of the 2018 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton
The game which will be hosted on April 4 at the Greensprings Football Camp as Kanu will join the management of Greensprings School led by its Director, Lai Koiki to make the event holding on April 4 exciting.
However, Kanu believes the season six of the annual Greensprings Football Camp would help to unearth more young talents for Nigeria. The ex-Arsenal star, who has been the face of the football camp in the last five editions, is eagerly looking forward to the 2017 edition.
Particularly with the camp hosting the 2018 Commonwealth Games Baton Relay, Kanu said: “I think this year will be more exciting for participants, as they will have the unique opportunity to experience the Queen’s Baton Relay; this event will definitely be a significant part of history, as the Queen’s Baton is heading for a world record of the longest relay race.”
He added that there are plans to have special guests as lucky participants would get opportunity to win tickets for the charity match scheduled for April 29 with top African football legends featuring.
With the presence of top coaches from England and Netherlands participating in this year’s Greensprings Kanu Football Camp, the participants are expected to have a unique experience of the Queen’s Baton Relay.
According to the Head of Corporate Strategy of Greensprings, Uche Ogbu, the presence of top coaches would give the participants the opportunity to draw from the wealth of experience of the coaches from England and Netherlands.
