Staff Threatened With Guns, Shovels—Abuja electricity company

The management of Abuja Electricity Distribution, AEDC, Plc, has placed concern over attacks on its field workers, which is described as unwarranted, vicious, inhuman and criminal.

It said no action of AEDC Plc staff on their legitimate job warrants the use of bullets and shovel to threaten them, especially where there are redress mechanisms in place by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and AEDC Plc.

In a statement by AEDC yesterday in Abuja, it also disclosed that its management had petitioned the Inspector General against the Divisional Police Officer in Kubwa, Abuja, for what it described as the unprofessional way he handled a case of assault and threat to the lives of three AED Plc staff.
