The Enugu branch of Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze ndi Igbo, has eulogised Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s achievements on infrastructural development and improvement of workers’ welfare.
Chairman of the association, Hon. Chidozie Alex Ogbonna, paid the tributes during a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House, on Thursday.
He noted that the level of progress witnessed in the state under Governor Ugwuanyi was unprecedented and thanked him for giving indigenes of the state a huge sense of pride.
“When I went to Nsukka to solicit support on behalf of Ohaneze, I was amazed at the landmark development I saw there. It was gratifying that the development has moved across the state even to the most remote parts, and also reflects on deplorable federal roads in the state,” he said.
Other locations which he said also bear the governor’s imprints include the 9th Mile Corner, whose roads he described as a nightmare prior to the Ugwuanyi administration; the Nike Lake Road; Opi-Nsukka road; Ugwuoba-Awka road; Enugu-Onitsha road via Aguabor, among others.
He noted further: “Enugu is now a choice destination for well meaning individuals and organizations because of the enduring peace and security entrenched by Governor Ugwuanyi. This sort of thing has never happened before and we are commending you for that.”
The chairman also informed the governor about the intention to inaugurate the association at the local government level and solicited his support
