THE member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Muhammed Lawal, has called on people of the area to keep faith with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government in revamping the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
Lawal said since the legal tussle involved in the steel company had now been resolved, he had the belief that the company would soon enjoy a facelift.
He spoke in Adogo, headquarters of Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state during his ‘thank-you’ tour of his constituency.
Lawal said though the economic meltdown in the country had hampered the rejuvenation of the steel company, he believed that President Buhari has the political will to ensure that the company bounces back to life.
According to him, the people of his constituency would begin to see the realisation of the 2016 constituency projects as the Federal Government had just released funds for it, saying the delay in the release of the 2016 constituency projects hampered the completion of the project last year.
Lawal, however, faulted insinuations that he had no constituency office and was not in touch with his constituents.
According to him, “I am the only person in the whole state that has two constituency offices— one in Adogo and the other in Ajaokuta township.
“I visit my constituency almost on a weekly basis. Just because we are not making noise or dancing to some people’s political tune, they set out to ridicule me. But I advise that they play politics of constructive criticism and not ‘bring-him-down’ syndrome.”
