Sokoto state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, have added his voice in proffering solution on recession currently bedevilling the nation’s economy.
Governor Tambuwal, who fielded questions from journalists in Sokoto also supported experts call on the Federal Government to inject more money into the economy.
According to him, creating job opportunities, especially, through the construction industry and injection of more money into the economy remain a sure way out of the current recession in the country.
Tambuwal said, “The way out is to inject money into the system and create employment opportunities for the people’’.
“Ask any economist about the way out of recession, I am sure they will inform you that massive construction efforts, backed by the release of funds, will create jobs whose multiplier effects will jumpstart the economic barometer’’.
“This is part of the reason why we encouraged the Federal Government to disburse the funds from the debt relief for states to kick-start activities at the state level.”
He, however, blamed the current recession on certain policies of immediate past administration under President Goodluck Jonathan.
“The recession we are currently facing was as a result of the way the economy was mismanaged, largely, by the Jonathan administration.’’
