Many Nigerians braved the threat to make massive arrest in Abuja and Lagos to be part of the protest called by concerned Nigerians against palpable hunger, unemployment and the seeming government inaction to tame them.
Daughter of Senator Obafemi Ojudu, Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs, Moremi Ojudu was seen alongside notable Nigerians like the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, protesting the unchecked hardship fast running many households aground.
The Punk King, Charly Boy and Sheyilaw were also part of the protest initially called a hip-hop artist, Innocent Iddibia, popularly known as Tubaba.
“I commend all Nigerians that protested against bad governance. Today’s protest was massive. Nigerians owe it to the gallant men who stood in the frontline damning all the consequences. They could have also chickened out like Tuface whose life was threatened. They could have just sat at home and waited for whom to call the short, but no, they took it upon themselves to lead the protest,” one of the protesters in Lagos said while praising the likes of Sheyilaw, Charly Boy, Sowore and Moremi
“Though I must admit that what Tinubu told the protesters is unbelievable and mind blowing coming from a man of his standard that is well travelled. But what matters at this point is that they dragged the man out to hear their lamentations,” another protester who would not wnt his name mentioned said.
Despite the fact that Moremi’s father is an appointee of this government unlike like so many of the protesters she has access to the seat of power but she chose to support the long suffering the masses.
Many saw her participation as heroic unlike many who do not have access but are still playing the ostrich and living in denial.
“We don’t expect too much from our government but unfortunately, this government is failing and failing dangerously.”
I was one of the few energetic protesters to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu today to express our displeasure on the state of the Nation. Moremi Ojudu is a true activist she stood to the ground together with the other activists that we must deliver our letter on behalf of the Nigeria youths to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Because we stood our ground, we eventually saw Asiwaju, to deliver our letter to him and asked him questions on the state of the nation. We must, henceforth hold our leaders accountable, they must deliver.”
Moremi spoke out to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Bola Tinubu, for selling Nigerians using Lagos as a model.
Charly Boy noted that the struggle to overcome political insanity, audacious impunity and mindless looting in Nigeria took a negative hit last night not just because Tubab called off the protest slated for February 6 “because most of the demons we are fighting against hijacked the peoples protest and anger at the establishment.
On if Nigerian youths will support outright mass revolution Charly Boy said “I doubt. But, I no go give up on my children, The Coalition of the Frustrated, Angry and Hungry, as well as this country that I love. We must sustain the pressure and cannot turn back as the revolution continues. We must begin to resist political insensitivity and mindless looting of our common wealth.
“I, Area Fada, will fight so fear will no longer cripple my people. Our ‘mumu’ don reach last bus-stop. And before we go start to chop sand sand, we go enter street and purge our lands of political dictatorship, oppression, poverty and corruption.
“We must not walk/work alone or we will fail miserably. The Nigerian politician is our eternal enemy. The Nigerian people are the willing victim and it is time to channel our anger peacefully towards making governance work for us and not against us.”
