Ibori Leaves Benin Airport For Oghara


The ex-convicted Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, on Saturday arrived in Benin, the Edo State capital heading for his hometown in Oghara in Delta State.

‎Ibori ‎had reportedly arrived Nigeria, through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from the United Kingdom on Saturday morning, after spending four and a half years in a UK prison for‎ money laundering.

He had been expected to fly to Oghara in Delta State where a rousing reception had been prepared for him.‎‎

But it was gathered arrived at the Benin airport at about 2:30pm‎ in a chartered private jet marked “5N-IZY\”.

‎The former governor was said to have been sighted in a black jacket and black pair of jeans trousers.‎‎‎‎
It was learnt that he immediately proceeded to the VIP lounge where he spent about 10 minutes before leaving for Oghara, in a black Toyota Prado jeep.‎‎

It was learnt that he was accompanied by some security operatives in a convoy of vehicles.‎

Family, friends and political associates ‎had reportedly gathered at the Osubi Airport, near Warri, awaiting his arrival.‎

‎But an unofficial source said that Ibori adjusted his plan to avoid undue publicity. ‎
